Q & HSE    

QUALITY, SAFETY, HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT Gannon Dunkerley & Co., Ltd. (GDCL) is ISO 9001:2008 certified company whose Quality Management System is accredited by DNV, The Netherlands. All works of GDCL are executed in accordance with approved Quality Plan and Quality Management System which are regularly audited by DNV representatives. Managing Director (MD) holds Management Review Meetings with all Divisional Heads in each quarter to monitor the targets given to the Divisions. He also reviews the status of Quality, Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (Q&HSE) and gives directions for continual improvement of Q&HSE Management System in GDCL.

   

Highest priority is given to Quality, Health, Safety and Environment by the company. The Q&HSE Policy enunciated by the MD lays emphasis on Quality, Health,Safety and Environment through a structured approach with a well-defined organization. Systems and procedures have been established for implementing the requisites at all stages of construction. Head of the Q&HSE Department is Management Representative (MR) of GDCL and operates in MD’s Office and is directly responsible to the MD on all matters relating to Q&HSE. MR is assisted by the Associate Management Representative (AMR) of each Division. Each AMR in turn monitors implementation of Q&HSE measures through Project site Quality & Safety Officers located at the work sites. For intensive guidance and monitoring, MR is assisted by Senior Managers in Quality and HSE. Similarly, Divisional Heads are assisted by Quality and HSE Managers to oversee working of Quality and Safety Officers at Project Sites. Quality Management System is operating as per ISO 9001: 2008 in all Offices and Project Sites of GDCL. Salient Q&HSE Management Systems adopted are detailed in the table below:

Besides the enforcement of engineering measures and management controls, Personal Protective Equipment as per needs of the operations, are provided. Health, Safety & Environment awareness among employees is created and maintained through regular training programmes. GDCL has opted for Integrated Management System as per ISO 9001:2008 (For Quality Management System), ISO 14001:2004 (For Environment Management System) and OHSAS 18001:2007 For Safety Management System) with effect from 26 Nov 2010. The Integrated Management System is being followed in all offices and Project Sites of GDCL and first internal audit as per IMS has already been completed by GDCL.We have approached DNV for HSE Certification and preliminary HSE Documentation Audit is completed. The Certification would be obtained after successful auditing of Project Sites and Divisional Offices by 31 Mar 2012.
